BIBLICAL ZIONISM

Biblical Zionism is a theological belief rooted in the teachings of the Holy Bible that affirms God’s covenant promises to the Jewish people regarding the land of Israel. It holds that the return of the Jewish people to their historic homeland and the continued existence of Israel are not merely political events, but are connected to God’s redemptive plan as revealed in Scripture.

At its foundation, Biblical Zionism emphasizes God’s unconditional covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in which God promised to give their descendants a specific land as an everlasting possession. Passages in Genesis, Deuteronomy, Psalms, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and other prophetic books speak of Israel’s scattering because of disobedience, followed by a future regathering and restoration by God Himself. Biblical Zionists interpret these prophecies as literal and ongoing, not symbolic or transferred to another group.

Biblical Zionism also affirms that God’s promises to Israel have not been canceled or replaced. While salvation is available to all people through Jesus Christ, Biblical Zionists maintain that God still has a unique covenantal relationship with the Jewish people and a distinct future purpose for Israel. This view is often associated with a literal, grammatical-historical approach to interpreting Scripture, especially prophecy.

In practical terms, Biblical Zionism leads believers to support Israel’s right to exist, to recognize the Jewish people’s historic and spiritual connection to the land, and to oppose antisemitism in all forms. It is not a claim that Israel is perfect or above moral accountability, but rather a conviction that God remains faithful to His Word. Biblical Zionism ultimately centers on trusting God’s promises, affirming His faithfulness across generations, and acknowledging that His covenant purposes will be fulfilled exactly as He has declared.

It is important to understand, that the unique covenant with Israel DOES NOT mean that Israel will return to animal sacrifices, like some suggest, as God moves forward (Revelation 21:5) and not backwards.
